You’re finally visiting Estonia? It’s about time!

Seeing as you’re already in town for the Tallinn Digital Summit, add on a few extra nights to see for yourself what life is like in one of the world’s most digitally advanced countries. You’ll find that some of our national treasures have less to do with bits and bytes and more to do with slowing down and staying present. Ultimately, that’s what our digital solutions have given us — more time. More time to spend in the sauna. More time to spend in the forest. And more time to think of the next best thing.

Give yourself the gift of time and stay for a few extra days. Here’s what you can do with a couple extra nights in Tallinn:

•   Catch an international premiere at PÖFF, the Black Nights Film Festival. This A-list film festival (like Cannes, Venice, and Berlin) attracts thousands of cinephiles to Tallinn in November during the year’s darkest nights.

•   Steam in the sauna, then dip in the sea. Estonians love their saunas, and it’s likely you’ll have one in your accommodation. Try the original contrast therapy at Iglupark in the seaside neighborhood of Noblessner.

•   Linger over a meal at one of Tallinn’s top restaurants. The Estonian fine dining scene still flies under the radar. Chefs here mix tradition and innovation while showcasing surprising local ingredients. Look for Estonian wines, wild mushrooms, and smoked fish.

If you can’t stay longer now, why not come back next summer?

Northern European summers are blessedly mild, with nights that barely get dark. There’s excellent infrastructure for biking, dozens of lakes for wild swimming, and thousands of kilometers of hiking trails. The calendar is packed with cultural events like Viljandi Folk Music Festival, Tallinn’s Medieval Days, and Saaremaa Opera Days, plus weekend food festivals and sporting events like Tallinn Ironman and Rally Estonia.
